Since Pete Green began
dancing in 2001 he has been dancing and teaching non-stop. Quickly
picking up both West Coast Swing and Lindy Hop, he is now a Champion
dancer in both styles of swing. He has lived and taught in every major
swing dance community on the West Coast; and has traveled around the
United States as well as to Europe teaching. We're are lucky to now have
him as part of our community in Southern California.
Drawing from ballroom, jazz,
latin, african, hip hop, and ballet, Pete brings a unique perspective
and style to swing dancing. Over the course of 2007 he studied Alexander
Technique and related somatic body works, and has incorporate these
theories of movement, dynamic balance and tension release into his
dancing and teaching. Believing that dance should originate from within,
Pete places a strong emphasis on both the technique and the heart of
the dance in his group and private classes.
